Default BES Licensing

Please Login to Remove!

Hello!

I'm researching the launch of a BES server. However I have a question about the licensing. Do we need to purchase Windows 2003 device cal's in addition to BES user licenses?

Thanks!

2k3 device cals? Not sure what you mean.

You purchase the server license, which include one device CAL. Then you puchase separate device CALS, but they aren't limited to win2k3 or anything.

let me try to clear up my question:
i know that there are user licenses associated with windows 2003 and I know there are user licenses associated with BES. I guess my question is : Do we need to get both sets of licenses?

No you just need the windows server license for the server, you allready have Windows and Exchange Cal's for your current install.

But as all license questions get your reseller to comfirm it shouldnt take their license desk long.
