Hey there, welcome to the forums! a search for the error you're providing seems to reveal a memory leak in the MDS Service ... try restarting the MDS service ... what version and service pack of BES are you running?

I got something similar, but not quite. Hoping to get some insight:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: BlackBerry Messaging Agent BES
Event Category: None
Event ID: 40243
Date: 11/8/2007
Time: 7:28:07 AM
User: N/A
Computer: BES (name changed to protect the innocent)
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 40243 ) in Source ( BlackBerry Messaging Agent BES ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: OTAFM: message reference is not found, notification was discarded (RID=-1729072738) (Entry not found in index 0x0404).

From what I've been able to research and pry out of RIM, this error is generated when a message is deleted either from the Notes client or from the Handheld before it is reconciled or synchs with the other. Example, I get a message on my device and it's crap. I delete it within seconds of receiving it. It's in my mail file, but hasn't hit my desktop client yet. When the mail server attempts to deliver it, the deleted flag is triggered based up on my handheld action. Then the notification going to my desktop client is discarded.

Sound about right to you hdawg?
