Default Backing up non-Blackberry email from BES

Please Login to Remove!

Hello everyone

I am a fairly new and non-technical BES admin for a small company.

I have 4 sales people who have blackberrys. We allow them to get their gmail on their devices in addition to work email but now they want to backup all personal emails sent and rcvd from the device. I already backup their SMS messages via logging. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you very much for your kind assistance

I know youre a smallco, but if they're using them for work then they should be using the work email address - and I thought with Gmail then it's all stored server side anyway - so can't really see the point.

however easisest solution - I would install the desktop software and allow them to locally backup the device which will save everything..

Bertie...these guys each earn over 150k and deliver millions of dollars of value to the company each quareter...in other words what they want, they get!

CAn't use desktop as they never sit down long enough at their laptops and need something transparent to them

I beleive that you can force their REPLIES to BIS message to run through BES which would enable backing it up but you cannot do this on the incoming message from BIS.

I am sure someone else will chime in if there is any possible solution (People are pretty creative around here so don't give up yet!)

You could configure their gmail to forward a copy of all mail to an address on your mail server, and then also set through the BIS to bcc a copy of all sent mail to this same address. Its a round-about method to do it, but it would work.

Ditto, What they want is what they get doesn't always work in IT.

I guess they don't have to worry about information security.

I guess nobody is worried about such high powered sales reps keeping client lists and confidential info on servers outside the company's control? Or that when they leave, they can seamlessly keep that info and keep doing business with their clients????
