Default BES 4 SQL Server Specifications

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All

Does anyone have an idea of the hardware specifications of the SQL server for BES v4 should be?

It will be running SQL 2000 SP4 running on Windows 2003.

Thanks in advance.

I just put up a new remote SQL server for our BES servers. I like to allow room for growth, so I went with an IBM xSeries 336 with a single Xeon 3.2GHz proc, 2GB of RAM, 2x73.4GB 10K SCSI drives in RAID1 config, and redundant power supplies.

Cheers people, Vodafone have confirmed (eventually) that a server that could handle the O\S, 100MB for the db plus 2-3 MB disk space per user is sufficient would suffice.

So running with MS specs for O\S (WIN2K3) and SQL 2000 would be OK.

But you know th old saying, you can never have enough RAM......
