Default Wireless message reconciliation question

Please Login to Remove!

Our BES admin turned off the message redirection for a user for a bit and then put it back on. Should the message reconciliation (scan) sync the messages he received when the redirection was off to his BB?

This does not appear to happen. Only the messages he received prior to disabling redirection and after re-enabling it are coming to the BB. The user attempted a manual reconciliation but the messages still did not sync.

Thanks in adavnce.

You are correct, they will not come back to the device during the time the redirection was disabled.

But once the redirection is re-enabled, should the messages that were received while the redirection was disabled be synched to the BB on a rescan? Or will the messages received while the redirection is disabled be forever unknown to BES?

They will forever be unknown, the rescan will not pick them up. The setting is "disable redirection", not "delay/pause/queue redirection". Does your user have a requirement to "delay" message redirection? There are be other options in this case.

No the user doesn't have a requirement to delay the redirection. They were just wondering why they didn't sync later. I didn't have an answer as I really didn't understand how (or if) the scan would work in this scenario.

Thanks for the help. Much appreciated.
