All is well with our wireless calendar now. The mail team applied the cdo patch to the rest of the Exchange servers last night and all servers were rebooted. I'm able to add appts, delete appts, and add invitees to appts from the BB to Outlook now.

Excellent job MedicalEdge!

I'm a new Blackberry user and just installed BES. I thought I was going crazy when I saw the calendar issues. I followed your details explicitly and have corrected the issues.

Thank you for the post!

So far I haven't seen the duplicate calendar entries appear either. Those would happen sporadically on BB entries.

Update - well, now the BB entries aren't syncing to Outlook again! Still no duplicate entries though.
I'm not sure if you're still around, but perhaps someone could answer this for me, How do you register the cdo.dll with the BES.

In my setup I have Exchange & BES on the same PC.

Go to the directory where the CDO.dll exists at a command prompt and type:

regsvr32 cdo.dll

You should see a pop window that verifies the registration.

To All:

I was having the exact same problem as everyone else and discovered this on the web. Disregard the error message unless you do get it. But I tried this and it fixed the wireless sync problem.

Blackberry Wireless Calendar Sync Repair
If the wireless calendar syncing between Outlook and Blackberry stops working and the Blackberry user gets a message like "Could not accept message from service" follow the instructions below to solve the issue.
1. Place the Blackberry in the cradle

2. Go to the Blackberry Desktop Manager software and double click Intellisync
3. Click Configure PIM

4. Select Calendar and click Choose

5. Select MS Outlook 97/98/2000 and click OK

6. Click OK

7. Click Synchronize now and allow the process to complete

8. Click Configure PIM

9. Select Blackberry Wireless Sync and click OK

10. Click OK again

11. Click Synchronize now and allow the process to complete again

12. Click Close

13. The connection should now be re-established. You can test this by removing the Blackberry from the cradle, inviting the handheld user to a meeting and see if the meeting request shows up on the Blackberry and allows for acceptance or rejection.

Default RIM Points to Outlook as the problem...

I have recently been having a problem with a couple of my VIP users and their calendars. The problems seem to be restricted to modifying a single instance of recurring appointments (i.e. move, expand, delete the instance). It does not occur every time, but is intermittent. The appt. change is performed and appears correctly in Outlook, but is either duplicated or does not appear in the HH.

I worked with RIM, and they told me that this is a known issue in Outlook and the way it handles recurring appts. Each appt is assigned a unique ID, and when changes are made, sometimes another ID is created (hence creating a duplicate appt in the HH), or it is 'ignored' (hence 'blinding' the HH to the change). Their advice was that the issue was fixed in Office 2003 SP2, and that I should upgrade the users to that version. I've done so, and am now waiting to see if the problem reappears.

I hate to muddy the waters further, but that's what I've been told. There's obviously a major issue here, and I'm going to try some of the recs here to try and address things from the server side. Thanks, all!

Default MedialEdge is my savior!

After trying a multitude of other "fixes", I followed MedicalEdge's writeup and had success. One thing that I'd mention is the reg key (I think) should be HKCU not HKU . My problem was that my company made me (for money reasons) install BES on the same server running Exch2003 which is ALSO the DC running Win2003 ... needless to say I've needed to make a lot of concessions/accomodations already. I had the BES Admin user all set up but had configured Administrator to be the goto guy. I performed the migration and all seems wel (for now!). Thanks!
