Default How to save outgoing messages in Outlook "Sent Items" folder?

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to change a user on the BES to allow their sent items to be saved in their sent items folder within Outlook. The funny thing is that when looking at the user within the BlackBerry Manager and going to "Redirection" the "Don't save outgoing messages from handheld in "Sent Items" is checked and grayed out. On other users the I can uncheck this and allow this option. Any help would be appreciated. We are running BES 4.0.

Sounds to me like there is a problem with the users mailbox and the BES cannot find the "sent items" folder.

Can you verify that it is in the right place and labeled correctly inside the users mailbox. If it is, you could try running outlook.exe /resetfolders from the users desktop to reset the meta data on the folder structure.

Are you sure the setting is correct on the BES server? Isn't there an option you can set where they aren't allowed to save messages?

I looked to see that the Sent Items folder was in the right place and it was. I ran outlook.exe /resetfolders also. It appears that this didn't fix the issue. When I go to BES server, the check box "Don't save outgoing messages from handheld in "Sent Items" is checked and greyed out so I cannot uncheck it. Again, it appears that there are other users that also have this greyed out so it's not just one incidence. Thanks for the suggestions.

There is an IT policy for this setting. Do you have a Policy in force for some users that is restricting this possibly?

udontknowjack, that did the trick after looking at the default IT Policy closer. Thanks for your help.
