I only am able to see my Personal Contacts folder when searching for users. How do I enable my GAL to display in my address book? I cannot seem to find it in the options. I have not looked on the BES server yet. I just thought I would ask.

The only way I am able to find the contact's information is when I look 'em up by composing an email. Please do not tell me that is the only way to look 'em up.

You cannot sync the GAL into the BB address book. You need a 3td party product for this.

I don't know if this helps but you can do a "Lookup" from the menu in Address book, too.

You could always export the GAL and import it to your contacts. Then it can sync with the BB. One user here wanted the GAL synced to his BB so we did it that way. We got the idea from the following site. Knowledge Base

As long as you don't need to worry about keeping contacts up to date you're fine.

It's also probably a lot of unnecessary data on the BB using up resources. Execs here scream for the corporate directory on their BB's, although when pushed they'd only use about 1% of it.
I tell users that if they are constantly looking up the same person, add them to the personal AB, and then take responsibility for maintaining the record... apart from very-frequent email recipients, lookups should be fine!

Not only is there now unncecessary data on the BB the data is now taking up more of the devices memory. I told the user that and also told them they are on their own. I will not support this going forward.

Why they can't use lookup is beyond me.
