Default Push/pull mail for Domino & Exchange systems.

Please Login to Remove!

In my organisation, we have 2 mail systems which are Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange. We are wondering whether we could use 1 BES to push & pull mails for both systems.

Is this possible?

Hi Jadey:

I am having the exact question.
May I know technically, why it cannot be done?

Terribly sorry for the poor knowledge.

BES comes in slightly different versions - Domino, Exchange or GroupWise. When you buy a BES server, you have to specify which version you want.
There is no technical way to make a Domino BES talk to an Exchange system and vice-versa.

The differences in the architecture of mail systems means that there is not one boxed product of BES, they have to be mail-platform specific to work.

Perhaps you could look at using VM to do it from the same physical box?

Hey lovely moderators

Any chance we could close this thread?

We have a near identical discussion live here One BES support both Domino & Exchange
Quite a bit of duplication going on!
