Default appointment invites not showing in inbox

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry if this is a repost but I searched with now luck...

I have recently set up a BES for exchange on a separate box. It works great and for the most part there are no complaints. However I have some users (maybe all/sales people are not that techie) That when sent a invite or a canceled appointment they don't recieve the email about it, It just gets posted in their calendar.

Of course I am still on a TREO so I don't get much hands on time with a bb device. I was wondering if there is a auto accept feature that could be turned on, or any other way to change this behavior.

You are talking from the perspective of someone senting an invite or receiving an invite?

Normally the person that creates the meeting never gets an email.

You should check the Outlook/Exchange to see if it is auto accepting the meeting. The BlackBerry has no such function. The only way the calendar entry in on the BB is it's in the Outlook calendar first and it gets sync to the BB.

I'm experiencing the same problem, but only for users on one Exchange Server. All other uses on this BES work fine. The appointment shows in the outlook inbox with option to accept/decline, but on the BlackBerry it automatically goes to the calendar and never shows in the message list.

Is the problem server a different version of Exchange than the one that is not a problem server? Do exchange dll versions match between servers? (such as cdo.dll, mapi32.dll ...)

Just got this fixed tonight. Yes I had checked all the cdo and mapi dlls and they didn't match at first, hadn't done the kb926666 Exchange DST patch on this server as it was recently built. After that was done the appointments did not show up in the message list or the calendar!!! worst than what I had before,

After some more looking we found that the BESADMIN user didn't have the exclusive recieve as rights for this particluar server. All the other servers had been done after the whole domain admin/rights issue after an earlier microsoft patch.

Hopefully i didn't confuse anyone any more- in short check at the server level and make sure your besadmin user has the proper rights for send as/recieve as

I add them at the server level and not the storage group; just seems easier incase you add another SG later you don't have to remember to do this.

Good luck

Default invites not showing

I looked at those dll files and noticed that the exchange server has a CRM CDO.dll file. I wouldn't think that this is the problem. I had this working for a single user. Then more users were added and the upgrade to bes 4.1 was needed and thats where the problem started.

Customer Relationship Management - CRM is another mircosoft product that is a plugin to outlook/exchange.

But It was working before I upgraded it from the personal to professional....

I understand MS CRM ... but MS CRM comes with its own cdo.dll file? What is the version information on the file?

You need to find that dll, unregister it, install the latest version of ESM / patches and verify that the dll it installs is registered. Anything else is unsupportable.
