Default BES in Israel

Please Login to Remove!

We currently have an exchange 2003 & BES server in our US office and an exchange2003 server in our Israel location. Currently, we have about 30 users who work primarily in Israel (but travel to the US a few times a year) on the BES in the US
We're thinking of setting up a second BES server in Israel. I was wondering if anyone on this board is running a BES in Israel? Any issues? any tips?
Any general tips about multiple BES servers in different countries?

Having a BES in Isreal would be no different than in the US. Use a local database, MSDE would be the easiest. There are no tips really as it is the exact same as the US BES setup, just in a different country. Nothing to it

Question: The users in israel are using a US line and roaming there or are they using a local israel num?

I would suggest setting up a local bes for the israel users and have their own sql db. If you dont have licenses for full sql, I would go with MSDE, this way you dont have to spend money....

Just take note that you will not only have to wipe the handheld but reprovision them and create the new accounts or you can migrate these records..I would start off fresh with a new DB.

check what carriers support what devices

Get a good carrier rep that understands what provisioning to a BES Plan is!!

Check to see if you can get good roaming rates out of Israel for when people travel to rest of Mid East or Europe. In the uk for an additional $40 per month you can get 'unlimited' roaming with O2, which is a pretty good deal for the business travellers..
