Question IT Policy Security timeout

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all

I'm running a BES 4.1.4.19 server with ~60 users in 10 different countries.
All users are currently getting the same IT policy assigned.

Some of my users are complaining that the BB locks automatically after a certain time even if the user is in the middle of reading or writing mails.

I have checked the 'Device-Only Items' section and the 'Maximum Security Timeout' is set to 60 minutes.
And I understand that this would be 60 minutes of inactivity (depending on the setting on the device!

However, the users say that the BB is locked even if they have been 'actively' using it.

Do you have any idea where my thinking is going wrong?

Many thanks in advance for your answers!

Regards
Thomas.

In Password Policy Group do you have anything set for "Set Password Timeout"?

IT Policy > Device-Only Items > Enable Long Term Timeout
It's probably set to True.

Enable Long Term Timeout
"Specify whether the BlackBerry device locks after a predefined period of time, regardless of whether the BlackBerry device has been idle or in use during that interval."

Hi

yes it 'was' set to true... I've changed this setting now to false. My users are coming in in a short while and I'll check with them.

Hope that cures this one...

Many thanks!
Thomas.
