Default Need Groupwise Help

Please Login to Remove!

Am trying to get the BES to connect to our Groupwise Server, for the first time. We are running GW 7.0.2 on a Netware Server.

On the BES server I am running the client version 6.5.6 with all of the other patches recommended by RIM.

When I open the Client I am being informed that this version will not work with the PO.

I am at a loss I've made sure the PO is set to allow any client to connect, but I don't know what else to look for.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I now got the client working ok on the pc, but all of the GW services in the BES don't connect. THey start every minutes or so, and then fail. ANy ideas

Review the installation guide again or start again from scratch.

Make sure your passwords are correct for the users that will be used for the connections.

Default Where do I enter the passwords for the user?

I've made sure the user I have for groupwise is also an administrator on the server. I've verified the password on the server is good, and I've verified the password for Groupwise is good, by logging in as that user.

THe other thing that RIM had me look at was the trusted app number. I copied and pasted that, and have even tried recreating it.

I've also even done the installation with RIM on the phone.

If you are running BES 4.1.2 you have to install the Groupwise client that says 6.5.7 in the Help -> About section.

They used to have a direct link to the download for the client in the PDF, but they removed it, now it just goes to NOVELL: Worldwide.

here is the Blackberry.com KB article:

BlackBerry Search Results

Here is the link to the Novell TID w/ download:

You are getting the error message when you launch the GroupWise 6.5.6 client on the BES server correct?

The issue is that an admin has set (it is not a default setting) the "lock out older groupwise clients" setting on the PO object (NOTE: Not the POA object in the PO object container). To fix this:

In ConsoleOne...
1. Locate your PO object in the directory (it is the name of your PO and has a mailbox icon). You can find it under GroupWise System > Domain Name.
2. Right click on the object and select properties.
3. Click on the GroupWise tab to activate the pulldown and select "Client Access Settings".
4. Either uncheck the "lock out older groupwise clients" checkbox or change the "minimum client release version (x.x.x)" setting to 6.5.6.

I hope this helps,
Jeff
