Default remote power cycle a device

Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way through an IT Policy or a software configuration to push out a Device power cycle or soft boot?

Instead of having a user reset their device?

Not that I'm aware of. There is a third party application floating around the forums that will reboot the device instead of having to do a battery pull. You could implement that onto the device(s) if that would work for you.

Search for Metsfan's reboot application.

It puts an icon on the BB that they can click on to do a reboot.

You could also search for the utility called 'SoftReset' to put on the device. Creates an icon that the user can click on to perform a soft reset.

Works especially well with non-querty devices since there is no key sequence for a soft reset for these devices.

There is no way to do a remote reboot of a device from the BES.

Sometimes I'd like to take my users out of the equation, not just their input
