Question Blackberry 8310 could not receive more messages

Please Login to Remove!

A user at my company just got his new Blackberry device (8310) with BES service. He moved his sim card from the old device to the new device.

On his new device (8310), when receiving emails from the company BES server he can only download around 10k. When requesting 'More', he receive a 'i Couldn't receive more' error. The Service provider has tested and stated that the network is fine. He sync with his personal mail and can download complete emails. Error seems to be with the company BB server. This is a replacement device - the old BB worked fine so maybe it is a setup issue????

Does anyone encounter this problem before? How can we fix this problem? Any suggestions and advices are greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading my post.

Thanks & Regards,
Ken

What is the exact error he is getting? The user isn't moving or deleting these messages in Outlook by any chance?

Have you tried deleting the Desktop[CMIME] service book and resending it? Check the exact error and then check BlackBerry Technical Solution Center. Odds are there's an article for it.

Default Could not receive more

He user is getting "Could not receive more message" error. The user is not moving or deleting these messages in Outlook.

Do I delete the Desktop[CMIME] service book from the Blackberry server and resending it to the user's Blackberry device?

Thanks for your reply.

You would delete the service book from the device and then resend service books from the BES.

Either the service book is corrupt or there is something wrong with the message.

Try deleting and resending first.

I had this error on mine and deleting that service book didn't work for me either. What i did do tho was to do a "clean" uninstall of the DTM (removed the registry entries (RIM has a KB article on "how to" do this) then i wiped the bb and started over again....that worked.

Little late on the reply but as they say "better late then never"

Default Kind of late

I've deleted the Blackberry user account on BES, recreated his Blackberry user account, and resent him the activation password. The user wiped out his Blackberry device and tried activate the device, but unsuccessful. Now he could not even activate and receive email from his Blackberry device.

What does DTM stand for? How do I do a "clean" uninstall of the DTM?

Do you have to the link on how to do a "clean" uninstall of the DTM?

Thanks for your reply and advise.

DTM is Desktop Manager and search BlackBerry Technical Solution Center for clean uninstall and you will find the article.

What happens when the user tries the activation? Is the user receiving the email with the ETP.dat attachment? If not the he or the Exchange server is filtering it. If he is getting it then he may have a mailbox issue, that might explain the unable to get more issue. But there are other things that can be checked first. You can also search the above link for enterprise activation, there is a great article for troubleshooting enterprise activation.

When the user tries to activate, he gets "The server is not responding. Please contact your System Administrator." "An error has occurred. Please contact your System Administrator." Yes he did receive the email with ETP.dat attachment from his Outlook, not on his BB device. Thanks for your reply again.
Greatly appreciated. I am looking into more of this. If you know any links or articles that can help fix this issue, that would be awesome.

Thanks a bunch.

Is the user using the SIM from his old BlackBerry or is he using a new one with the 8310?

I'd get that new SIM checked, to ensure that it has a corporate data plan (NOT a personal / BIS data plan)
