Default Bes 4.1.25 upgrade from SQL2000 to SQL2005

Please Login to Remove!

We are upgrading our SQL 2000 server to SQL2005, this also happens to be our BES server that uses a 2000 SQL database. I ran the MS SQL 2005 upgrade advisor, which had the following upgrade issue:

Upgrade Advisor detected statements that reference undocumented system tables that are not available in SQL Server 2005. Statements that reference these tables will fail.

The following undocumented system tables are removed from SQL Server 2005:

Does this mean that BES will not run with SQL 2005?

BES works fine with SQL 2005 and it uses it's own db, not a sys database. It does place entries in sysmessages but that table is not listed. It should work fine. Just back up the BES db anyways, that's all you need to backup for BES.

Read this: How to move the BlackBerry Configuration Database to a new Microsoft SQL Server or instance

to move the configuration database

and read this: Move the BlackBerry MDS Services databases to a new SQL Server or server instance

if you're using an MDS Services database.

You can use SQL 2005 SP2 with the most current releases of BES 4.0 (SP7) and BES 4.1 (SP4) for Domino & Exchange ... I don't know GroupWise off hand.
