Default Email Reconciliation

Please Login to Remove!

Running BES 4.1.4 on Exchange 2003 messaging system.

Just set up Blackberry, and one of the biggest complaints from my users are the fact they spend ages on in field deleting emails they dont need, to come back to the office and find they are still there.

Is there a setting to make it delete off Exchange when deleting from blackberry?

Just tested also that deleting from Outlook does not delete from Blackberry.

Thanks

H

Message Screen > Options > Email Reconciliation > Delete On.

Set to mailbox and handheld to find deleted emails in 'deleted items' on return to Outlook.

Default Other considerations.

Make sure users are using the MAPI - if exchange is used. It should look like "Mailbox - Users Name"; and not an "Personal Folder"(take note I'm not referring to a .pst file).

Lastly if above is correct then users if they TRUELY wish to PURGE (not just delete to the Deleted Items folder) they can Wireless Purge from the HH.
Messages> Options> Email Reconciliation > menu for Purge Deleted Items.

Thanks for the replies.

I have all that set, no dice...?

Jagga, not sure what you mean by MAPI with Exchange - everyone is just using Outlook 2003 straight up connected to Exchange.

Still when I delete on either Outlook or Handheld, it doesnt sync with the other. :(

Anything else I can try?

EDIT:

Just tried it now and it works...

Takes some time for the settings to take I guess?

Hi,

I have a similar issue and following the steps above don't seem to help.

I have found that when I file an email in Outlook, the email still shows up on the BB in the messages list, even after using the 'Reconcile Now' function on the BB.
'Hide Filed Messages' is set to Yes
'Delete on' is set to Mailbox & Handheld
'On Conflicts' is set to Mailbox wins

I have 30 BB's running on the server and it is happening on most of the users.
Its running on Windows Server 2003 SP2, BES 4.1.4.15, connecting to Exchange 2003

Cheers,
Eric

Are they filing to a PST? If so you need to enable Hard Delete Reconciliation on the BES to pick up that move.

Thanks for your reply,
The messages are being moved to folders within the mailbox.
I've also checked and found that the Hard Deletes Reconciliation is already set to True on our server.
