Default PIN & SMS logging

Please Login to Remove!

Audit / Compliance is now entertaining the thought of logging PIN & SMS .. I searched the old messages about it but wanted to know if:

1. anyone is doing it?
2. how large the log files get, this would be applied to the main two policies and 2500 users could potentially be logged?

We do it on 1 BES with about 100 users.
Moderate PIN and SMS usage on average.
Each log file is about 200KB per day.

They're just text files and they compress very well, so storage space shouldn't be an issue.

We do it on all 4 of our BES servers. The largest has 560+ users. The SMS log on that one averages 800KB, PIN log averages about 75KB, and the phone call log averages about 2M per day.
No longer a BES Admin, but it was fun while it lasted!

Here is the KB on setting them up:

BlackBerry Search Results

I believe that you will find the directory under logging, I think it's in the Audit Root Directory.

Hope that helps.
