Default BES Through ISA Question Port 514

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

we have the following Problem.

We are running BES 4.0 SP7 behind an ISA 2004 server. I saw a constant stream of requests on port 514 from the BES server to ip 0.0.0.0 on what I assume is the ISA server and they all report "failed connection attempt".

I set up a rule on the ISA that allows anything from the BES server's IP to go to all network, but this access keeps failing.

I found in my searches that BES does indeed use port 514.

I found that thread:

BES Through ISA Question

Is it importand whether it is 4.0 or 4.1?
I think that UDP Data this useless, because of the 0.0.0.0 Adress, right?

Procedure
To disable the BlackBerry Enterprise Server from broadcasting this UDP traffic

Open the Registry Editor. Click Start > Run, and then type regedit.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logging Info\
Note: The Logging Info key contains several sub keys including Mailbox Agent and Handheld Config.

Create a DWORD value named SysLogEnabled inside every sub key within the Logging Info key, except for in the Mailbox Agent and Handheld Config sub keys. Set the data for each DWORD value to 0.
For example, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logging Info\Synchronization Service\ and create a DWORD value named SysLogEnabled with the data set to 0.

Warning: Creating a DWORD value within the Mailbox Agent and Handheld Config sub keys will cause undesirable results.

Once your changes are made, close the Registry Editor.
Restart the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Thank in advance!!
