Default Questions concerning BES User Groups

Please Login to Remove!

First off, we use BlackBerry Manager 4.1. Right now we are pushing out our software just by assigning the software configuration to each user. We want to set up groups so we can just put that new user in a group to get certain software.

How do groups work and will groups effect anything else beside software?

Is it possible to have a person in more than one group?

Thanks for any and all responses.

Hi dcgambino,

You can set the Software Config to a group and yes when a user is added to the group the software config is assigned to them including a wirless push if that is what you have set. You can also set a number of other things through groups including IT policy, PIM sync options etc.

You can't belong to more than one group and groups connot be nested. These features are arriving in 5.0 I believe.
