This is for all of my bb users curves, pearls, 8820s
BES 4.1.4.12
standard default policies, nothing tweaked.

they are all set up for Desktop
Delete On: Mailbox & Handheld
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts, Mailbox wins.

But if I move a msg out of my inbox to a subfolder or to a pst file, it will NEVER delete off of the BB, even if I hit "reconcile now".

I thought this system was supposed to make it easy to manage your inbox, that it would allow you to handle things in only one place. Now I have to tell all of my users that
1. some of your email will delete in both places like we want.
2. if you delete and clean out your deleted folder or do a shift-delete, it won't delete on the bb.
3. if you file something away, you will have to delete it on the bb.
That's not very good IMHO.

Don't get me wrong, some things work splendidly. When a new msg hits Exchange/Outlook, it hits the BB almost instantaneously. If I delete on BB it deletes in Outlook w/in a minute. If I delete in Exchange/Outlook/OWA, it deletes on BB in about 20 minutes worst case. So why can it not see the items being moved out of the inbox

Can anyone tell me this is something I can tweak so that given a few minutes, the bb inbox can always look like the Outlook/Exchange one?

Or at least tell me that this is going to be fixed in the next version of BES?

An email that you permanently delete or move to a PST will not be recognized by the BES unless you enable Hard Delete Reconciliation.

Or do you have it enabled but it's not working? If not, then search the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center for hard delete.

If you said that mail moved to subfolders don't delete. Those emails won't delete but they should file to that folder on the BB. You can tell if it's a filed message if the icon is a folder and not an envelope. If that's the case you need to enable Hide Filed messages.

If the subfolders are PST's then the Hard Delete Reconile option should get that working for you.

Another thing to check on the BB is that "Hide Filed Messages" is set to Yes.

I have a lot to learn. And it just isn't going to happen. Managing this beast (don't get me wrong, it is the coolest thing since the light in the refrigerator!)
is about 2% of my responsibilities. So you guys are really helpful. Thanks a million, I have set hard delete, and now I just have to search for the thread that explains which order to restart the services. Thanks again, and I will reply w/ my findings.

Hi all,
I came across this issue with my users. After doing some research the only way to sync BB to Outlook PST (I'm using a BES) is via the Desktop Manager.
Pull up
Doc ID : KB05130 on Blackberry's Support site. You CANNOT do a wireless reconcile though. It explicity states it when setting up. I tested with my systems and worked fine.
You will have to change option to Hide Filed Messages. When you go into your BB you will see your PST folder and inside will be the message.
