Looks like as of this AM that BES has been renamed to BPS in what I'm assuming is to prepare for SP5 or 5.0.

I was looking at the release notes but was unable to determine whether there were any actual changes between MR4 and SP4A. Does anyone know if it's simply a name change or are there any notable bug fixes between the 2?

EDIT: Upon further review, I notice BES is still listed there. Is this to replace the BES Express? I never did see any discernible difference between BES and BESX

BES Express is a fully functional BES but is capped at 15 clients.

BlackBerry Professional Software is a trimmed down BES that supports up to 30 clients but is missing:

MDS Support
Novel Groupwise Support
Enterprise Messenger Support (I think)

BPS also has a much smaller footprint than BES and can be run on the same physical server as Exchange without too much of an impact on the server's resources. BPS also comes bundled with an Install Wizard that walks you through the initial setup.

Is there any other documentation on the difference between the two?
Something with a bit more detail.

I would love to find something that lists the specific differences between the Professional and full BES versions (express is full just limited to 15). I am running the Professional Edition with 1 user CAL that you get free before we determine if we are buying it or not.

yes, I have this also, but it doesn't list what is missing form the BES for the Professional Software to work. I want to know what functionality that I am losing by running professional rather than BES.

Are you pushing apps to devices or using the enterprise IM?

Don't know about knottyrope, but my company won't spring for the mobile contract. Best i get is an 8700 and a USB connection to the BES.

We are not pushing apps or using the IM right now. But I am the only one using it right now. Until I get the approval on the budget to get the CAL's for everyone else.
