Message Status not syncing
Got a couple of Blackberry's where it doesn't seem to be syncing the status of the emails. If a mail is read in Outlook, it'll stay as Unread on the BB until you do a manual reconcile now.
Even if new mails arrive, they dont sync the status of the older mails.
Email Reconcillation options are
Delete On: mailbox & handheld
Wireless Reconcile: On
On Conflicts: Mailbox wins
Were using an exchange platform and BES version 4.0.2
Andy - what happens if you wait ~30 minutes; does it then reconcile? Do messages flow in normally for you or do they arrive in clumps / batches?
you might want to think about applying a more recent 4.0 Service Pack or even upgrading to 4.1 too.
I have been having the same problem. it only is happening on the newer BB's the 8300 "curves"
I can't see why / how this would be happening ... but have you tried updating your device.xml
haven't tried that yet and i am missing some updates to BES going to update and see if that works also.
mail continues to flow normally to the BB, often arriving just before it appears in Outlook.
I'll leave it half an hour and see if it does reconcile.
I've also got the update to v4.1 planned, just need to get some spare time to do it :)
If Reconcile Now works then it will work on it's own, it's just a matter of time. When new email arrives the status of mail will not change. Reconciliation only happens when you force it or when the BES rescans the mailbox after 15-20 minutes(could take longer) of not receiving anything new. Essentially the BES updates the properties of emails during the rescan. When emails are read/deleted/moved on the device it sends the changes to be made in a folder in that users mailbox. When emails are read/deleted/moved in Outlook the BES notices the property change and then reflects it on the device. At no point is Reconciliation ever triggered by the BES.
i am having same problem..plz advise on this issue.
anyone had this problem and resolved it? I've activated a BB for my account and it doesn't sync read/unread message status at all, no matter how long its left or whether i do the reconcile now.
I asked my hosting service to look in to this and this is what they replied to me...
"We have seen this before, basically what you have to do is delete the messages and give it a minute or so before you clear the deleted items folder. If you do it too quickly the BES server doesn't get a chance to scan the mailbox and note the change in status. This will resolve your issues."
I don't know if this is going to work. I typically delete messages all day and only empty my trash a couple of times a day, but we can work on it.
I do know that to be correct.. If you delete an item in outlook and then quickly empty the trash, BES will no longer see the item and orphan it. It will stay on the device.
