Default BB Perfesional server Clients just say initializing and never connect

I just installed a Blackberry Perfessional Server and I setup a user to sync with the server and when I go in to Enterprise Activation and enter the info the server stays with a status of Initializing and the BB never leaves the Screan saying Activating with the email address.

What things should I check for?

I right clicked the user and clicked Send Message and sent an email By Email and the email showed up in the email box so I know I am getting communication with the Exchagne server but looks like not with the device. I checked the connection to the database and checked the Activation key in the Blackberry Server Configuration dialog but dont know what to try next.

do you have a BES plan on your account? the standard BIS plan will not activate wirelesly, and although you can activate via USB, it wont give you the BES functionality.

This is the plan that I have the Smart Choise plan from alltel

Wireless Plans from Alltel

And it has Enterprise service listed so it should work according to Alltel's Web site.

Just because the device is being billed for enterprise service, doesn't always mean someone set it up correctly.

Are you able to start an activation from the BB and have an etp.dat message appear to any email address? For example, start an EA to a personal email address and a fake password, and see if the message arrives.

If it doesn't arrive to the Inbox or a spam folder, the device may not be activated for enterprise.

It needs to be able to send out the etp.dat before all other communication begins.
