Default BES Server Change - Handheld Question

Please Login to Remove!

We are going to start to use hosted exchange and thus not run our own bb server. Do I need to wipe each handheld and then do a new ent activation on the new server? Is there any way to make sure the devices don't lose there settings? I don't care about messages, contacts, etc. But I would prefer not to have to set up each BB again with user prefs. Thanks

I guess the machine name of the hosted BES box won't be the same as yours therefore I guess you will have to ent activate again. I would do a full backup of the device(s) to a user section on a network share and then see what happens.

don't really understand why if you're running exchange & BES in house your looking now to move to a hosted environment, seems a little back to front to me. If you don't have the staff to support exchange in-house then I'm sure there are a bunch of outsource companies that can do it for you...

It is a different system all together, just want to avoid resetting all setting on every BB, if possible.

Likely the SRP will change so yes you will need to remove the service books and resync.
