With my base install I do not see anywhere in the policies to remove them, I figured I needed to install the MDS services before I can control them.
I'm a new BES Admin so I'm not even sure what that policy would be called and the server is not in production yet so I have nothing to test on.
Glad I asked. You don't need MDS Services for any of these. Look through the BlackBerry IT Policy Reference Guide
... to see what you can / cannot block. MDS Services is responsible for managing communication of behind the firewall applications. IMHO, RIM did a big no no with their naming and it only confuses situations (like this one) ... don't worry, you're not the first to get confused by it (I was too). Check out more on MDS
if you'd like.
