| Basic functionality questions Please Login to Remove! I am being asked by my manager for a basic explanation of the inter-operability of the various bits of BB/BES functions so I have listed the bits I think I understand asking the questions i don't know the answers to.
Create SQL db for BES to store information, locally on same server or on separate system. Usually done by the install process.
Install BES, give it an SRP, this authenticates the BES to RIM. What other details does it contain/send to RIM?
Assign user to BES, this writes details to SQL.
Issue user, email address, a password for EA, what happens to this info?
User inputs email address and password to BB
This goes to RIM, passes back to BES, BES sends Service Books to BB via RIM. How does RIM link a particular BB to a particular BES?
Add new BES, new SRP, to existing domain with separate SQL, assign existing BB user to new BES, why the need for EA? If it is a shared SQL then EA is not needed.
There may be other questions as I try and finalise this but any assistance is welcome.
