FYI: Desktop Manager 4.2.2 changes the two tables in SQL relating to User HTML access to 0 when a user does a manual sync. Upgraded to 4.5, and HTML E-mail works fine.

The BBupdate through me errors so I opened the DB and modified the dbo.ServerConfig and dbo.UserConfig - RichContent tables and the BESOnlyMessages to ((1)) from ((0)). Restarted the SQL server and the BES server, re-pushed the service books from the BES and I still do not see the enable html or the BESOnly icon.

Any ideas on what's wrong with my setup?
Have you performed hard reset of your BB?
I deleted the device from the BES and wiped it. Readded to BES and activated, still no luck. Am I suppose to modify something elese? From what I saw in the SQL scripts the only thing they do is modify the zeros to ones.

There are two tables containing two fields to be changed to 1's. A total of four fields.

Are you editing both ServerConfig and UserConfig tables?

Yes I have made the change to all 4 tables (2 in user and 2 in server config).

The funny thing is the SQL script completes successfully on the disable but fails on the enable script.

I get this from the Management console:

Msg 512, Level 16, State 1, Procedure ServerConfigSaveCapTrigger, Line 29
Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression.

The exact error steveb_uk got in post #55 in this thread. Manually editing didn't work.

Whew... I found it... the script was failing because the SQL is management for multiple BES servers. It was trying to update the tables for all of the servers. The editing of the tables worked when you OPEN the table instead of modify the default values. Which is what I was trying to do manually. oh well... wiping and re-provisioning on the BES now.. we will see what happens this time.

BES 4.1.6 which has just been released enables HTML support by default.

Unsticking. Please upgrade to SP6 for this functionality.

I have installed 4.1.6, however most of our devices are on older firmware and we are not in a position to upgrade everyone, I've recieved a few complaints from people that html e-mails are now unreadable because the BB cannot interpret them. I have disasbled Rich content in the poliy and in the SQL database to be sure, however I think the links are still ruining e-mails.

Could someone please tell me hopw HTML links should look on the BB when Rich-content is switched off? Is there an easy test e-mail I could send to check this. Sorry to be so ignorant, but I never really checked how they were formatted before we had the problem.

I have a BB Curve with 4.3 on it. When I upgrade the BES to 4.1.6 will the Curve accept HTML email?

This thread is out of date. To get it working with BES Express (not BPS), upgrade to SP6. You don't need to make any changes to the database, as these options are exposed in the GUI.
