Default Real-Time Event SRP Errors-- localhost & connection failed - 04-28-2008, 04:30 PM

We running BES 4.1 SP4 on Win2k3 SP1 & Exch2k3 SP2, and (1) BB user working fine. But we are seeing a fair amount of these event log errors:

SRPClient::Connect: Error calling host "localhost" [127.0.0.1] (0)
[SRP] Connection failed

It appears that most of the time, these events occur very early in the AM or late PM CST. Can one config BES so the events are marked as information type events, and not as warning type in the log? Really if the SRP service is not working, then that would be the error. But to see real-time SRP errors seems like too much reporting? Can one turn off those two warning events?

Sounds like it might be an issue with your companies firewall blocking it. Do you have access to check blocked traffic?

Yes, we have an internal Symantec Gateway device. But the device does allow outbound traffic. Does BES require a special rule in a firewall?

Sometimes it can, yes. I would check the Symantec Gateway to see if its blocking any outbound connections to the SRP.
