Default BES activation issue (8100) - 04-29-2008, 03:54 PM

Hi, all! Having an activation issue here... In-house we're currently running a BES server (4.0.x) SP6 with Exchange 2k3; all client devices are BB8830's running on Verizon's network. All of the 8830's are running fine and already config'd for the BES.

I have another user that brought in her BB8100 (AT&T network), and I'm trying to get it activated on the BES. Every time I try, I'm essentially getting an error that says "Unable to connect to server".

Suggestions? The fact that my user's BB is running on AT&T shouldn't matter, should it? Is there anything special that I need to do to get this working? The device itself is actviated, and cell and data services work perfectly fine on it. I read in a thread somewhere that her provider has to send the BES Provisioning Service to her service book, and we're working on that.

Suggestions? Thanks!
Solo

No, the BES is not carrier specific. I would start by verifying the user's 8100 is provisioned for BES access. Without that it will not connect to your BES.

Had issue with one user putting 30 meg videos into contacts body.
I turned off body sync field for that user and all worked well after.

Cant remember if anything else worked until that was fixed.
