Default What do you do with old Blackberry HH's?

Please Login to Remove!

I was curious to see what everyone else does with old Blackberry HH's. We go through many more than some of you might because we have very good Government pricing with our provider.

I have a box full of 7750/7250/7290/7130 models and 8703's are starting to quickly be replaced. All are wiped, but I'm really not sure what to do with them.

We usually keep them on hand since we slowly, but continually, add users. However, if we have something that we're absolutely not going to use, our vendor takes them back. I don't do the purchasing so I'm not sure of the arrangement, but it might be something you could look into.

There are websites where depending on the model and the condition of the device you can mail to them and they give you money for them or you can donate them and claim the donations on your taxes.

It depends upon the model and condition. If they are beyond repair we send them for recycling (t-mobile provides paid recycling envelopes with every handset upgrade).

If they are in good working condition, we have sent them off to FullCircleWireless.com: Cash for Used Cell Phones | Sell Used Cell Phone for a few bucks. Last batch we sent them we got enough money for an IT go karting trip.

Also we have donated some to a local elementary school that receives money for old cell phones.

I give my kids a few to play with, they love em.
Everyone thinks its kewl for them to be playing with real phones.
My son (3 year old) loves to play the asteroids ported game.
Daughter likes to do ABC's on it.

And its rechargable so no AA's needed.

Gives them good practice for when they get older too.

These are some good ideas and some I'll have to investigate locally here. I know typically you can drop them off at cell phone provider stores for battered women's shelters (at least in this area), but I wanted to see some of the other creative things others are doing.

I'm sending all of my old devices (72XX, 87XX, 71XX, etc.) to a company out in Dallas that will refurbish or recycle depending on the condition of the device.
