Default Is it possible to sync calendar and contacts without syncing email?

Please Login to Remove!

BlackBerry Professional Software Version: 4.1.4.3

I have been tasked with enabling calendar and contact sync over wireless while not having mail redirected.

Everything I look at suggests it can't be done, but I have not yet digested the entire Administrators Guide.

Since this is for the owner of the company I need the answer yesterday. Surprise, surprise.

Please respond here and to [email address].

Thanks bunches.

I can't imagine why you would want to do this, however ....

If you are running a BES server
In the message options of the handheld, there is a section where you can pick which E-Mail folders are sync'd in theory you could probably just de-select everything and still retain all the other stuff. Although to be honest, if all you want is contact and calendar sync, perhaps blackberry is not the correct device to be using. Perhaps a smartphone and use the MS activesync features built in to Exchange 2003 and above, these things are OK, but I feel they fall down on E-Mail itsself, which is why blackberry is way better, if you do not want that functionality maybe a smartphone would be better.

Why not edit folder rediredtion on BES?
Could make a group policy for this as well.
