Question MDS not working, but it is enabled

Please Login to Remove!

Got back to the office after a trip and the Blackberry Browser is no longer working. It gives me a "Unable to connect to the selected Mobile Data Service, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your administrator." error. I checked on the BES (ver 4.0 with Exchange) and it appears to be working correctly. I reloaded my service books and did a new Enterprise Activation (after the person who set the box up said he had seen it before and it worked last time).

Is the something I am missing? Email is flowing both directions but nothing else. Also can not telnet in to the private network anymore. It gives me a session error. Lastly, another user is having same issue but is able to get to the internet using the internet browser, which I seem to have lost with teh new enterprise activation.

Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Tanguay

I would suggest simply restarting the mds service. I have had this happen a couple of times and restarting the mds service fixed it. Nothing indicates there is a problem but something is hung in MDS.

Have you checked the BlackBerry Knowledge Base?

You would have found this article which is a starting point

http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgec...46671&vernum=8

MDS also has to be enabled at the Server and User level.

Thanks. It is enabled at both the User and Server but however the service was not running. Restarted the service and it appears OK.

I will bookmark the Knowledge Base. Thanks again.
