I installed BES Service Pack 5 on a working BES 4.1 server and now my blackberry server doesn't work. I can't send out to internal or external accounts. And if I add a new user it just sits at initializing in the Blackberry manager.

Here are some of the errors I get on my mail server:

Anyone have a clue why a service pack would break everything?

Did you reboot after the install?

Guessing you might have some Event: 20226 talking about hung threads.

I have rebooted twice.

During the install did it come up with any errors?
Did you install it with the besadmin acct?

I used the admin account to do the upgrade and it wants me to edit the mapi profile which I do. I add my mail server and the mailbox name: besadmin is there anything else I have to do? do I need to set a schedule on the remote mail tab?

After installing SP5 under the besadmin account the only errors I get are:

Is your firewall blocking it?

No changes to the firewall were made...all I did was run the service pack.

Under blackberry server config on the blackberry server tab I changed the following info:
router host is now set to: the host name instead of the IP of my mail server
Attached host is now set to the host name instead of the IP of my mail server and now the only error I get is this one:

the other errors I reported earlier are no longer appearing, but I still can't send or receive email...anything else I should check?

nevermind...I'm still getting those SRP connection failed errors

Did you allow outgoing TCP 3101 in your firewall?

Got it working I had put in the server hostname instead of "localhost" under Router Host and Attached host.

Once I changed it to localhost and restarted the services it started working again.
