Default IT Policy Status: Error

Please Login to Remove!

I have a remote user that is trying to activate his new Curve from Sprint on my BES small business server. I currently have 11 other BBs working like a charm on this server from Verizon, those units are all either 8830's, Pearls, or 8703's.

After wrestling with it for a while, we were finally able to get the Curve to connect to the BES, but now it shows Last Contact Time "Never" and IT Policy Status "Error".

I've had my fair share of trouble getting the OTA activation to work, but I've never seen it connect and not work.

Has anyone ever run across this?

Thanks in advance,
SB

where did the device come from?
was it previously on another BES with a different IT policy?

perhaps confirm that first so we can get a better idea on how you have arrived at this issue.

It is a new device from Sprint. He has confirmed with them that it is provisioned to work with BES. He also mentioned that he is able to get his gmail messages on the device, if that matters.

remove user from BES
wipe device
if possible run ouutlook /resetfolders for users outlook profile

add user to BES and setup password for OTA activation
and do not assign any custom IT policy, let it take default IT policy first

Resolved: 4th call for verification of the correct BES provisioning with Sprint resulted in getting someone who knew what was going on and got him on the right plan.

Seriously, who trains these people?
