Default how to disable voice calls on BB 8830 from bell canada

Please Login to Remove!

I would like to know how disable voice calls on black berry 8830 and how to make it data device only?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

hmmm, I honestly don't know that you can, short of forwarding all incoming calls to another number, which doesn't sounds like your goal.

You can if you are on a BES, you can set it in an IT policy. If you're not on a BES you are likely out of luck.

I have seen it in the IT policy when I was looking around. It said something like "disable phone" then you need to select the option true beside it in BES

In the IT Policy, it is under Global Items - Allow Phone. This will disable/enable the outgoing calls (except for emergency calls) from the device. Incoming calls will be diverted to voicemail.

Default Yes it is only Possbile if the Black Berry is on BES SERVER

I was manage to get this information listed below while reading the BlackBerry_Enterprise_Server_Policy_Reference_Guid e

Allow Phone IT policy rule
Description
This rule specifies whether the phone is available on the BlackBerry® device.
Default setting
The default setting is True.
Usage
Set this IT policy rule to False to prevent users from making and receiving any calls except emergency calls. The phone icon
remains on the BlackBerry device.
Minimum requirements
xxx8226; Java® based BlackBerry device
xxx8226; BlackBerry® Device Software Version 3.6
xxx8226; BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Version 4.0

Hi
I am using 8830 with Bell Canada, I tried to block in and out calls to make it data only device but so far no luck. I followed the instructions here. I am using BES and I see PIN and Status Running ; IT Policy sent messages but so far calls are not blocked !
I defined Global Items - Allow Phone - False, assigned to user.
Any help will be much appreciated.
