Default Hard Deletes

Please Login to Remove!

Hey there ok this is my problem my boss stores everything that comes into his mail box in a archive folder. I have hard deletes enable on the server and it works fine. The issue is that it seems like once a month it stops working on his device. I have tried to do the reconcile now and that dosen't seem to do the trick. Do i need to make the msg state database a larger number? right now its set at 200. I haven't been able to find out any info on this any would be great. We run bes 4.1.4.12 and exchange 2003.

Thanks
Cavy

Well 200 means it will only track the history of the last 200 messages so likely your going beyond that. I'd bump it to the limit.

Set the size of the message state database in messages per user. Set to 0 to turn off the message state database. A higher value reduces the load on the Exchange server and increases memory usage on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. Default 100, maximum 1000.

So this is my understanding of this. It keeps track of the last 200 msgs. So msgs 201 will not hard delete? 1 being the newest msg that was received 200 being the oldest?

Thanks

I don't remember the refresh but believe its tied to either the services stopping and starting or a BES reboot. If I get a chance I'll discuss with T-support to confirm.
