Had this questions posed to me--anyone have an idea if this is possible:

We'd like a rule (and sound file) pushed out to all BlackBerry devices (or a subset of them) that will tell it to handle text messages with XYZ subject by playing ABC sound, but no changes to notifications for other text messages

I thought just setting a filter for the text message to flag it as a Level 1 message would work, but that means it has the same behavior as other level 1 messages, and doesn't allow for using a specific sound file for it. Did some searching but couldn't find anything referencing this specific setup.

What you would like to do cannot be done.
You cannot push any profile settings to the device via BES.
Additionally, you cannot filter SMS messages or flag them as L1.

If you ask why. The reason is filters are processed by BES. SMS messages do not go through BES.
