I have a device with a problem:
When i try to unlock the blackberry, the password is shown in clear letters not in asterisks.
Even if typing in the right password, it doesnt get accepted.

Had this problem also last week with diffrent user. I resolved by ssetting him new password. This one was accepted when typing in.

Any ideas what could be wrong ?

Second that. Normally at the 6th attempt, right after having to type the word "blackberry"

Sounds like you're entering the wrong password. You might think it is the right one, but clearly the BB doesn't agree!
Reset the device password from the BES, as you did with your different user.
