due to a change within our mail infrastructure we will get a new GAL.

Will the change of the GAL (MSX 5.5) affect our BES environment (v. 4.1.5) and / or the devices?

As long as you configure the GAL properly, no issues. Remember a user only has 1 default GAL, and the default GAL is the GAL BES uses.

All that said ... Default Global Address List is the first default GAL, but it can be deleted / replaced with a different one / name without issue.
