We recently upgraded our BES to version 4.1.4.16. Since the upgrade many of our blackberrys are having a issue where their keyboards lock randomly. We currently have 750 units on our BES, but not all of them are having this problem (mine never locks).

We changed our policy to allow 8 hours of inactivity before the keyboard lock takes place, but this has not helped. We never had this issue with v4.0.

Has anyone had this same issue?

Welcome to BBF; You might want to look through your IT Policy (IT Policy Reference Guide) to see if there is anything else forcing a lock.

Things like this don't happen "randomly"

8 hours? How exactly did you do that? The device limit is 1 hour.

I was able to change it to 8 hrs by going into the default policy (which is what we are currently using) and changed the Maximum Security timeout to 480 minutes.

I do realize that I was in the Security timeout, and what I am dealing with is not a security issue. It is simply a keyboard lock. I guess that if you had password protection it would force you to enter it each time you unlocked it, but most of our employees do not use the password feature.

I also find it hard to belive that this would happen randomly. I have been looking through the policy info and the only thing I could find to adjust was the section mentioned above.

Any clues what entry would control the keyboard lock?
