| | BB Messenger not working Internally

We recently upgraded all of our Blackberry's to 8700's through our phone provider (they resell Sprint's service). Previously, the users had an assortment of phone models on different carriers. For some reason, after the upgrades, our users are not able to use BB Messenger internally. We use BES to sync everything.
When they try to add an internal contact (anyone on our BES) through email or PIN, the other contact never receives the message/invitation.
When they try to an external contact (anyone NOT on our BES), through email or PIN, the other contact receives the invitation and messages and everything works normally.
The BES is pretty standard, and we haven't configured any policies that might restrict this. The carrier says that they don't have any settings on their end that would block this, so I'm at a loss.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
