I am running Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.1.5.26 and i'm dealing with an issue with one of our applications. Our Application is Blackberry OS Specific so now that we have users who are getting phone replacements with the newer os i need to support more that one version of the same application. I currently place both versions of the application in shared/application folder and index it.

When i load up the Blackberry manager and try to create a software configuration i get a warning saying that multiple instances of the following applcation were found. Please remove all but the desired verzion to enable the application for configuration.

Anyone run into this issue?

You cannot have multiple versions of the same software. By default BES will use the latest version.

If it's a single jad you can put one of them on a web server and do a OTA install via the BlackBerry browser.

I ended up making a second folder under common files to get this to work

c:\program files\common files\research in motion\shared\application\appver1
c:\program files\common files\research in motion2\shared\application\appver2

Running the loader in each folder directory.

Then in the blackberry manager selected the appropriate share corresponding to the version i wanted to install
\\besserver\research in motion
\\besserver\research in motion2


All i can say is what a pain!
