Default BES + LCS 2005 can't send

Please Login to Remove!

I have spent a fair amount of time working on getting the Office Communicator client working on our BES environment.

I finally am able to log into Office Communicator on the Blackberry with the new 2.0 client. Our LCS is 2005 on the back end - had to install the CWA hotfix on the CWA server, as well as register ajax.dll in IIS. Once thats done I can log in ok and get to contacts, receive IM's no problem.

however, when I go to send, i get a message

Your message could not be sent (Error: Failed to execute your last action.)

It did it with both the old OC client and the new 2.0 client that was recently posted.

Test blackberry is a Verizon 8830 running 4.2.2.196
BES is 4.14 mr5 + the Office 2007 out of office hotfix.

any ideas? I will test more devices as well as our test 4.15 server.

Thanks in advance.

Greg

Care to post what you had wrong and what you did to fix it?

i missed a step on the ajax section of the CWA deployment guide - when i reviewed all of those steps and figured out what I did wrong, it started working.

I had the same problem and fixed it today. Just download the "Microsoft Office Communicator Web Access Planning and Deployment Guide" and read the "Enabling the AJAX Service for Communicator Web Access" part on page 42.
You have to create the Web Service Extension, the ISAPI Filter and (this is what i forgot) a "Wildcard Application Mapping" on the cwa virtual directory of the website.
Cheers
