The location of the database should not affect delivery; but it might affect response times for administrative tasks done vid BB Manager, and MDS functions.

We use Exchange and have our db running on a dedicated SQL 2000 box in Toronto, for example, and our BES are in Hong Kong, Dallas, Toronto, Raleigh, and London.

I think RIMs recommends < 100ms rtt SQL <-> BES connectivity.

That said, BES doesn't touch SQL for each message delivery, so it won't impact standard message delivery.

That said, if a BES cannot reach SQL when services (such as the Dispatcher) attempt to be started, the service will not start.
