Default Install Blackberry Professional, cannot access RWW, please help.

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all,

First, I apologize if I missed a post addressing this issue. I did indeed search these forums with "rww" and "remote web", etc.

Small Business Server 2003, SP2
Blackberry Professional 4.1.4 (143)

The SBS was running smoothly, exchange, etc. RWW (Remote Web Workplace) was fine. Installed BB Pro and somewhere along the way users were unable to get to their desktops via RWW. They get the login screen and after hitting "Login" they get a two-frame page error "Page cannot be displayed" up at the top and a "Loading..." in the middle. This happens both via LAN (//server/remote) and WAN (mail.server.com/remote).

I went through all the steps as described in this thread:
www .tech-archive.net/Archive/Windows/microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs/2006-05/msg05261.html

No luck.

One thing to mention:
Putting a selected user in the "Domain Admins" security group fixes the issue, but of course, something weird propagates through the AD and the said user will eventually be unable to send email from their BB, but will be able to receive.
This was resolved by removing the Domain Admins group, stopping BB Routing service, adding BESAdmin to "Send As" permissions for users, then restarting server.

In summary: Domain Admins is not a viable solution.

So right now I'm back to square one. Has anyone come across this issue?
Please, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Even a point in the right direction.

Thanks so much

Armegeden, Welcome to BBF!

I don't know if you'll find an answer here to the RWW problem created ... You might look to post this question in an SBS forum too.

The Domain Admins / permission issue has to do with the AdminSDHolder object however.

I have limited experience with SBS; I'm sorry I can't help more.

Thanks for the reply, hdawg.

Could you recommend a SBS forum that you find helpful?

I'll do some searching myself.

I would start with:

SBSDIVA.COM and SBS LINKS

As far as forums go ... I know of none.

Depending on how many users you have on your BES you could try the following.

Backup the DB.
Uninstall BES.
reboot the box
See if RWW is working again.
If RWW is working again then you might want to see if you can move BES off of the SBS server???

Removing BES seems like a logical troubleshooting step. Also something else you might want to check out is if RWW uses any vesion of Java. BES does come with JAVA so it might have updated it on the server and RWW requires an older version???

Sorry but I dont knwo anything about RWW. Just BES.

Here is a link to a post I created on another, SBS, forum:

www .techsupportforum.com/microsoft-support/windows-nt-2000-2003-server/267283-rww-not-working-please-help.html

I haven't tried uninstalling the BB server software yet. For now I just created a separate, non-BB, user and added it to the Domain Admins group so it could log into RWW, while leaving the working BB user alone.

Work around for now until I find a solution.

Once I find it, I'll post the answer in one of these threads.

Thanks for the replies though, I do appreciate them.
