Default Google Maps OTA via BES

Please Login to Remove!

Environment:
We have a mix of models and OS versions (7250 [4.0,4.1]; 7130e [4.1,4.2]; 8703e [4.1,4.2]; 8830 [4.1]) ~230 total, all on a single BES (4.1SP5 for Exchange).

We would like to push Google Maps to all of the handhelds on our BES.
Google Maps 2.0 seemed to install successfully OTA via a software configuration on most/all 7250s, many of the 7130e's, some of the 8703e's, and none of the 8830s.
Google Maps 2.1 seems to install on almost all of the 8703e's and 8830s, but only on a few of the 7250s and 7130e's.
Google Maps 2.2 so far seems to behave about the same as 2.1.

AFAIK, we can't have multiple versions of the same app available. Is there any other fix, besides updating the OS on the 7250s and 7130e's and hope that it resolves the install issue with the later versions?

You could create separate software configurations with each one including a different version of GMM

Perhaps you know of some magic that I don't, because as far as I can tell, you can't have multiple versions of the same app present on the BES at the same time.

Could you provide more info on setting up multiple application shares? As far as I can tell in the GUI, you can only point to one share at a given time, and having multiple versions of the same application in the same share doesn't work.

You would need to create a new application share and then create a new software config for each share that you create and have a differnet version of google maps

Thanks. After looking at the GUI again, I realized it was trivial to create a new software configuration pointing to a separate share.
