Is there a way to force a resynchronization of what is installed on a handheld with the BESMgmt database?

Scenario:
A software configuration is assigned to a device, which includes Application X for wireless delivery. Application X is installed OTA on the handheld successfully, but for some reason the BESMgmt database is not updated to reflect Application X is installed. So, at the next period, Application X is sent OTA again, which the handheld simply ignores.
