Default Downtime during upgrade SP6

Please Login to Remove!

We have an BES (80 users) running on exchange2003 with sql2000.

Now we want to upgrade to SP6 as fast as possible to solve the PDF security issue. My question is, how long takes this upgrade.
I read that every Blackberry device receives new servicebooks after this upgrade. How long does this takes on eatch Blackberry device?

mine took less than 20 min with 2 reboots.

Service books only took maybe 4 minutes with our 2mps pipeline.

Make sure you do the regisrty backup and DB backup, ya just never know.

ok, thanks for the fast reply

how many users are active on your BES?

And how long is the Blackberry device not responding while receiving the new service books?

Less than 20 + 4 minutes

(BES is off line while backup is done and doing the setup routine and reboot)

I just emailed everyone 10 min before the upgrade that they wont have email because of a security update. too bad, so sad, LOL

I try to give them more then 10 minutes because at times we have users that are on calls or in a spot where they can't check their emails, like with a client so I try to give them at least 2hr's notice that I'm doing it if I need to do it in the middle of the day, otherwise I'll VPN in and do it before I head to bed for the night from home.
