Default User can't send email via BB - 07-25-2008, 07:22 AM

3 users with a BB, BES is outside; with the provider.
Locally a Windows 2003 SBS server with Exchange.

1 users works fine; no problems at all.

2 users receive all emails, but can't send any emails. Sent emails appear in the drafts folder on the pc, not in sent Items.

Checked the settings (Send data, ...) in AD, all settings are equal to user A who's able to work.

Provider states all works fine for them. This morning user doens't even receive any emails anymore. Provider has called user; whiped his BB; send new activation; and should be ok now; receiving emails; Still not possible sending them.

Please help.

thanks

What do they see on the device? If they have a red x then open the failed email on the BB and look at the Message Status field.

This will tell us why it's failing.

Most often, when we have newly-activated BES users who can receive but not send, it is because the BES tech forgot to add the besadmin account to the mailbox with sendas permission.

Hi, I understand what you're saying. But the BES is on a different server and location; at the BB Service Provider.

We have only the exchange server overhere; Somebody told me to check the proxy settings. But it all seems to be ok.

I added to "send on behalf off" option; to the 2 users with their own name, as I found somewhere noted.

The problem is, we don't have a BES-server running overhere; I also don't have any BES-accounts on this server.

I'm sure it's a security problem; but don't know where to look.

I asked the user (I'm working remote). Users states following:

he's able to send; but the mail appears in his "drafts"-box on his pc. On the pc; he has to resend them; then it works fine (is under his NT-account offcourse).

Is this normal behaviour for this known error; that the 'to be send' emails are stored in the drafts folder?

Thanks
